2014 Vigneron Viognier
Our 2014 Viognier is quite special. It's a big wine that reflects the season. Styled on a traditional Viognier whose home is Condrieu in the Rhone Valley of France, this wine features a golden hue with an aroma of dried apricot, jasmine, roast hazelnut, vanilla bean and orange zest. In the mouth, it’s all bottled apricots with cream, mixed peel and almond.
This is a complex wine with layers of stone fruits, flowers, toasty oak and spice. The palate sensation is big, textural and oily yet focused, and easily matches the 14.4 % alcohol. The wine delivers Gisborne’s bold elegance with a rich and savory finish, well deserving of its 5-Star Rating on raychanreviews.com
