Style

The wine style is modeled on traditional Viognier whose home is Condrieu in the Rhone Valley of France. Viognier is an ancient grape variety. A complex wine with layers of stone fruits, flowers, toasty oak and spice. The palate sensation is broad, textural and oily yet focused through the depth of varietal fruit flavour and a texture that easily matches the 14.4 % alcohol. The wine delivers Gisbornes bold elegance with a rich and savory finish.

 

Chardonnay 2009

Description

Colour: Lemon lime, slowly developing a golden hue with three years bottle age.
Aromas: Pungent lift of melon, white peach. Roasted nuts and grilled lemon vanilla and fresh baked bread.
Palate:Fresh peaches and cream texture with a tight citric lemony acidity that freshens and lengthens the palate.

Style

The wine style is complex with layered citrus and stone fruit aromas elevated by savoury yeast and nutty oak characters. The palate sensation is both fresh and textured. The wine delivers Gisbornes bold elegance with a long and seamless finish. Ripe and weighty fruit flavours without the heat of excess alcohol.

 

Syrah 2009

Description

Colour: Deep Garnet good density with red hues.
Aromas: Complex rustic, savory and earthy, spiced fruit scents of Raspberries. Black pepper corns and cedar oak.
Palate: Richly layered with ripe red berry flavours and velvety tannins

Style

This dry red Syrah wine is modeled on traditional Hermitage, from the Rhone Valley of France. A small amount of Viognier has been blended at receipt in line with tradition.

 

Noble Viognier 2009

Description

Colour: Golden straw yellow.
Aromas: Orange marmalade, dried apricots and almonds.
Palate: Richly textured honeyed and luscious well poised balance of sugar, acidity and tannins.
